Siemens Caring Hands donated EUR 35,000 to fund the ongoing humanitarian activities of the Philippine Red Cross following the 6.9 magnitude earthquake that struck Bogo City in Cebu located in the Visayas region in the Philippines. Attended by representatives from Siemens Philippines and Siemens Healthineers Philippines, a handover ceremony was held last January 26, 2026 in the headquarters of the Philippine Red Cross in Manila to formalize the donation.

Germany-based Siemens AG and Siemens Healthineers co-funded the EUR 35,000 financial assistance via Siemens Caring Hands, which will support PRC’s comprehensive and holistic assistance operations in Cebu. The donation will help finance immediate and long-term relief efforts such as providing medical tents, food packs, hygiene kits, sanitation services, sleeping kits, as well as welfare desks and psychosocial services for the displaced communities.

Siemens Caring Hand’s funding is the latest response from international donors that have mobilized critical aid. Foreign governments such as the European Union, Japan, and Taiwan have initially stepped in to provide sizeable financing to support the earthquake and typhoon victims.

The 6.9 earthquake last September 30, 2025 that hit the northeast part of Cebu left at least 75 deaths and 1,200 injured people, affecting 170,000 population. Following the devastating earthquake and its subsequent aftershocks, Typhoon Tino (Kalmaegi) also caused massive flooding in the provincial island on November 3, 2025, resulting in at least 260 fatalities and overall immense challenges in the recovery of communities.

“At Siemens we stand with the people affected by the recent natural catastrophes. This contribution is part of our corporate social responsibility and reflects more than financial aid — it is a message of hope, resilience, and our unwavering commitment to help rebuild and elevate the lives and communities here in the Philippines,” said Fabian Bergeron, President & CEO of Siemens, Inc.

“Strengthening communities in times of crisis is central to our purpose at Siemens Healthineers. Our support through the Philippine Red Cross aims to help the people of Cebu access the services and resources needed as they rebuild and recover from this calamity,” Michael Schmermer, President & Managing Director, Siemens Healthineers Philippines.
