The image quality for the area outside the 60cm standard scan field of view does not meet the image quality of the area inside the 60cm standard scan field of view. Image artefacts may appear, depending on the patient setup and anatomy scanned. HD FOV allows using a FOV outside of the 60 cm standard scan field of view but has restrictions as outlined below. For high accuracy treatments like SBRT or PT the possible geometrical accuracy as well as HU accuracy of HD FOV might not be sufficient for treatment planning.
