On July 5 - 6, more than 150 doctors and healthcare professionals participated in the clinical program 鈥淏reast Imaging: Foundation and Advanced Updates鈥, co-organized by Siemens Healthineers, Radiology Across Borders (RAB), the Health Professional Education Center - Hanoi Medical University (HPEC) and the Radiology Center - Hanoi Medical University Hospital (RAD HMUH).
Held at Hanoi Medical University, the event is part of the RABics initiative 鈥 a series of training programs launched in Vietnam in 2019 by Radiology Across Borders (RAB) in collaboration with Siemens Healthineers. RABics aims to strengthen medical education in developing countries through international volunteer radiologists and radiographers, with the goal of improving diagnostic imaging quality and advancing community healthcare.
This year鈥檚 program brought together leading doctors and specialists in breast imaging from Australia, New Zealand, and Vietnam. Over the course of 2 days and 11 lectures, participants explored breast pathology from a diagnostic imaging perspective through key topics such as signs of disease, the role of ultrasound in breast assessment, benign breast conditions, breast cancer metastases, the principles of tomosynthesis and more.
In particular, the experts analyzed and discussed a variety of real clinical cases, enabling participants to better apply their knowledge in daily clinical practice. In addition to specialized instruction, the program fostered an interactive learning environment that encouraged critical thinking, open discussion, and collaborative problem-solving around real-world medical challenges.
The collaboration with RAB and Hanoi Medical University in organizing the clinical program 鈥淏reast Imaging: Foundation and Advanced Updates鈥 further reinforces Siemens Healthineers鈥 long-term commitment to advancing healthcare in Vietnam. Beyond providing state-of-the-art medical equipment and technology solutions, Siemens Healthineers actively partners with local institutions in skill development, knowledge exchange, and capacity-building initiatives - all aimed at improving clinical outcomes and working toward a more sustainable future for healthcare.
