The event was attended by the leadership team of Phuong Dong Medical Complex Company Limited, Mr. Michael Kratz 鈥 Commercial Counselor at the Embassy of Germany in Vietnam, a large number of journalists, medical professionals, leading healthcare experts and the representatives from Siemens Healthineers Vietnam.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Michael Kratz, Commercial Counselor at the Embassy of Germany in Vietnam, remarked: 鈥I am glad to witness this hospital鈥檚 dedication to high-quality, innovative healthcare and its contribution to enhancing Vietnam鈥檚 medical services. The introduction of advanced medical technologies from Europe, such as the world鈥檚 most advanced Photon-counting CT scanner, into Vietnam is not merely a technological advancement, but also opens up numerous opportunities for deepened cooperation between Vietnam and Europe in the future.

NAEOTOM Alpha庐 from Siemens Healthineers is the world鈥檚 first FDA-approved Photon-Counting CT Scanner. With Quantum Technology, the system dramatically changes the equation of dose-vs-image quality. It renders high-resolution image quality even to the small lesions while keeping the dose to a minimum.

Developing this breakthrough took major vision and perseverance, and almost 20 years of investment and research before launching. NAEOTOM Alpha has globally been recognized as a game-changer in cardiology, oncology and neurology. With this installation, people in Northern Vietnam will gain access to faster, safer, and more accurate diagnostic imaging technologies that were once only available in the most advanced medical centers worldwide.

鈥淲e know there are many types of CT scanners. Among them, Siemens Healthineers鈥 NAEOTOM Alpha is currently the only whole-body Photon-Counting CT system approved by the FDA. It is a first-of-its-kind, extremely high-value system, not every hospital can install it. In Vietnam, this is only the second system to be installed.鈥 Prof. MD. PhD. Pham Minh Thong, President of Vietnamese Society of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine said.

Speaking about the key advantages of the NAEOTOM Alpha, Prof. Thong highlighted: 鈥淥ne of the most outstanding advantages of the Photon-Counting CT is its resolution, which no other CT system has achieved. It offers a resolution of 0.11 mm. With this level of detail, we can observe and assess lesions inside coronary stents. For a 2 mm coronary stent, we can determine whether there is occlusion or stenosis. At present, no other CT scanner can do this, only the NAEOTOM Alpha can.

In addition, its advantages in oncology are extremely important. While current systems operate with dual-energy technology, the Photon-Counting NAEOTOM Alpha features multi-energy capability. This allows us to count the photon spectrum, examine, evaluate and differentiate between various types of lesions and tumors.
