The Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski National Institute of Cardiology – National Research Institute was founded in 1979. It is the main Polish clinical center of cardiology and cardiosurgery with the highest reference score. During the 40 years of its existence as a research center, the Institute has contributed to the development of Polish cardiology and cardiosurgery by initiating and popularizing numerous new methods of treatment and by educating and training specialists in cardiology. The center is owned by the Ministry of Health.
