Choose the smart way

ARTIS icono floor with OPTIQ

During a procedure, interventionalists have to see clearly – while keeping dose as low as possible. As your partner for minimally invasive interventions, we have made it our mission to further drive technology to empower you to tap your full potential. Following our tradition of innovation, we redefined the principles of automatic exposure control and rebuilt it from the ground up – resulting in our imaging solution OPTIQ. Based on big data, OPTIQ constantly adapts the relevant parameters to deliver your set image quality throughout a procedure – independent of angulation or patient size1, while also significantly reducing dose. Find out more about OPTIQ and how it supports you in expanding precision medicine.

OPTIQ explained

Understanding how OPTIQ works is simple. Think of it as an advanced navigation system that recalculates the route when you take an unexpected turn and optimizes the efficiency of your car – all automatically. At its core, OPTIQ features our proven Siemens 5-parameter exposure control, which dynamically adjusts the tube parameters – tube voltage, tube current, copper prefiltration, focal spot size, and pulse width – while also considering SID and collimation. The result? Consistent image quality at the lowest achievable dose.

With increasing patient attenuation, the conventional detector-dose-driven exposure control leads to a reduction of image quality – even in the average patient thickness range between 20 – 30 cm. OPTIQ uses a contrast-based technique, supported by intelligent, self-adjusting algorithms.

Compared to a conventional regulation using a constant detector-dose of 80 nGy (in this example), OPTIQ delivers constant image quality based on CNR for excellent dose efficiency – independent of patient thickness.1

    Structure Scout

For interventional procedures, devices like guide wires, coils, and stents are indispensable. The market is constantly growing, with new devices emerging made from different materials – and each one needs to be clearly visible without an increase in dose.

OPTIQ with Structure Scout automatically optimizes the visibility of the different devices and materials you use, based on their dose absorption properties. This material-specific imaging is based on preset values. As a result, the system automatically adapts its exposure control parameters to the material used. Compare that to a GPS that makes sure you can see all your information clearly – regardless of light or weather conditions.
